Notes: I originally wrote this story for an anthology on re-imagined ghost stories and myths. I decided to do my own take on the legend of the Wendigo, turning it into an apocalyptic tale set in Toronto.

The story ended up getting rejected, so I left it in my virtual trunk where it sat for a year or so.

In July 2009 I attended a bbq for the crew of Biff Bam Pop!, the pop culture blog where I write book reviews and articles on TV's "Lost." The editor, Andy Burns, had an idea for each of us to write a horror story for a special Halloween edition, called Biff Bam Boo! The only thing was, the stories had to be short since we didn't want to overwork the artist, JP Fallavollita, and we needed to have them ready soon because he wanted everything to ready by October 31st.

Three months later the stories started appearing online in the last week of October, with "Wendy" popped up right on Halloween. How cool is that?

I've had artists produce illustrations for my short stories in the past, but this was the first time I had an entire story transformed into a comic. I'm extremely happy with JP's work and look forward to working in this medium again.
