Journal

Nothing but sniper coverage on the news today. Am I the only one who thinks that most CNN analysts are just people who have read a lot of Tom Clancy novels?

Ian

Ian made a new friend tonight. His name is Maddox and, like yours truly, he’s a writer. Now and then, he’ll stop by and share a few words. Maddox doesn’t write horror fiction, but he has a lot of opinions—especially about web diaries or "blogs." One such article has prompted me to go ahead and post an essay I myself had written about them. It’ll be up within the next week or so, after I finish "Boy from Planet X."

The article is very tongue-in-cheek and will probably be called simply "On Blogs" (marvel at my creativity! marvelll!).

Most of you should get a laugh out of it. All others go to hell.

Random Writing Quote

"We don't get as raw a deal as science fiction writers. Science fiction is dealing with some of the biggest ideas – where we are going to go as a race – but for some reason it's not taken seriously."
Ian Rankin, on crime fiction
